Havin' Fun Isn't Hard

Some people come to the library every day - at the exact same time, sit in the exact same place, and leave at the exact same time, and some of them stay for eight or more hours at a time. Some of them bring their own computers in to take advantage of the free internet, and some of them use the library computers. The only problem is, the computers have a one hour per account, per day limit. So some people like to wait around until someone leaves their computer without signing out and then they go to that computer and use the rest of previous users' time. The library is a great place to be, and it is a comfortable study environment. You can read, learn, socialize, or even play a quite game of chess with a friend. I just don't understand how people can tolerate spending that much time in the same place.

Speaking of sitting in the same place for so long, did you know that the amount of time that the average American spends in front of the TV is like, 6 hours per day? Yesterday I was standing on the other side of the drive-up bookdrop to empty the bin. Just as I emptied it out and put it back, literally forty full-length movies came pouring in about eight at a time. I even counted. I like movies too, but forty is a bit excessive. If you figure forty dvds with a one-week rental period, and the movies average about two hours each, that's outrageous. You do the math.

Hint: (40dvd)(2hrs) = No Life

Not all TV is bad though, there are plenty of educational shows that encourage children to spend their time learning. The library is a great place for that, a place where you can check out books about nearly anything. Don't take my word for it, just watch this clip from one of the shows I loved dearly as a child. (Only the 1st song applies, this is the only video of this song I could find)

Inspirational.

I completely agree! I don't understand how people can waste so much time watching TV. It is pretty much just like watching other people's adventures and they could be out making there own adventures and doing something with there lives. As for spending a ton of time at the Library, I don't understand why people read books there. I mean I check out books all the time but then I read them at home. Who reads books at the library? What are the couches comfortable or something?
